Horror fans, the first trailer for Welcome to Derry—the prequel series to Stephen King’s It—just dropped, and… it kinda just looks like another version of It.
Don’t get us wrong, the vibes are creepy, the visuals are cinematic, and yes, Pennywise is back to haunt our dreams. But if you were expecting a totally fresh take or a different tone, this might not be it (pun intended). From what we’ve seen so far, the series seems to lean heavily into the same style and fear-factor as the recent movies.
If you loved the It films, this might be right up your dark, storm-drain-lined alley. If clowns aren’t your thing (🙋♀️), maybe sit this one out.
