Nelly recently stopped by The Breakfast Club with his wife, Ashanti, and shared a story from back in 2011 that is pretty hard to top.
Apparently, Taylor called Nelly out of nowhere while he was in St. Louis. She told him that she and her friends had made up a dance routine to his hit song “Hot in Herre” and wanted him to fly to Houston to perform it during her Speak Now tour.
Taylor was upfront that she didn’t have a huge budget, but she offered to send her private jet, cover his hotel and pay him $50,000 for the appearance.
Nelly jokingly asked if she could put the money in a McDonald’s bag. And apparently, she delivered!
He says Taylor sent a private jet to pick him and his kids up, and after the performance, her manager handed him a McDonald’s bag filled with $50,000 in cash. Even better? Nelly says he would have done the whole thing for free!
The two have crossed paths onstage a few times over the years, and Nelly and Ashanti were even guests at Taylor and Travis Kelce’s wedding!
