Charli xcx is truly refusing to let the moment end — and honestly, same.
She just dropped a new video tied to her upcoming movie The Moment, and it saves a genuinely wild surprise for the final seconds. The visual is for A.G. Cook’s “Residue,” the third track we’ve heard from the film’s score, and it’s pure moody pop chaos in the best way.
The video, posted Tuesday (Jan. 27), follows Charli strutting through a dark warehouse, cigarette in hand, while wobbly synths pulse in the background. As the music builds, flickers of light reveal the space is filled with Charli clones — yes, multiple versions of her just standing there like a pop-star fever dream.
Things hit peak intensity when the camera moves into a room packed with those replicas, frozen in front of a strobing screen before suddenly breaking into synchronized dance. Messages flash behind them like “Don’t let it be over,” “I never go home,” and “Dead horse,” which feels very on-brand Brat-era existential energy.
And just when you think that’s the big moment? Nope. The final shot shows a Charli-shaped silhouette taking a drag from a cigarette — until the lights come up and reveal it’s Kylie Jenner. Casual, no big deal, just Kylie Jenner popping in at the end of a Charli xcx video.
“Residue” and its trippy visual arrive just days before the premiere of A24’s The Moment, a mockumentary centered on Charli’s 2024 Brat era. A.G. Cook, who helped shape much of Brat, handled the film’s score, which also includes previously released tracks “Offscreen” and “Dread.”
Brat summer may be over, but Charli is clearly not done feeding us — and we’re absolutely seated. 💚
