Jelly Roll says he’s retiring from music — but don’t worry, he’s (mostly) kidding.
In a video posted by his wife Bunnie Xo, Jelly is clearly in shock and awe, saying, “I was on Lil Wayne and Eminem’s album in the same year, y’all… I retire. It’s over. I quit the music business. This is my last tour ever. I can’t do anything cooler.”
And honestly? Can you blame him? That’s not just a career milestone — that’s a full-blown fantasy for most artists.
Jelly appears on the new Carter VI album from Lil Wayne, which dropped Friday, joining Big Sean on the track “Sharks.” Add that to his recent appearance on Eminem’s project, and it’s safe to say Jelly’s hip-hop roots are having a full-circle moment.
Right now, he’s on the road with Post Malone for the Big [Butt] Stadium Tour — and if this is his “last tour ever,” he’s going out with a bang. (Though something tells us he’s not hanging it up just yet.)
