Shakira has always been about girl power, but during a recent concert in Mexico, she took it to a whole new level—by honoring her former nanny, Lili Melgar. And not just because she’s great with kids . . . but because she straight-up exposed Shakira’s cheating ex, Gerard Piqué.
Yep, Lili was the real MVP who let Shakira know Piqué was out here being shady. His response? Fire her. Classy move, Gerard.
But karma (and Shakira) came through. After their split, Shakira not only rehired Lili, but she also made sure she got the back pay she was owed AND gave her a cut of the royalties from El Jefe. Because if you’re gonna blow up a cheating scandal, you might as well get paid for it.
The best part? The song itself gives Lili a well-deserved shoutout:
“Lili Melgar, this song is for you, since they didn’t pay you severance.”
And during her show, Shakira made the moment even bigger—bringing Lili onstage like the absolute queen she is.
